Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole rolls out new agri-food innovation support services in anticipation of future innovation and entrepreneurship centre

16 February 2026

To consolidate its role as a leader in agri-food development in Quebec, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole announces the rollout of a new range of services to support agri-food innovation, now available to businesses and innovative project leaders. These services, effective immediately, have been designed as a new structuring step for the future Agri-Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, which the Maskoutain community hopes to see emerge at the heart of the Cité de l’innovation agroalimentaire technology park.

With this announcement, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole confirms its commitment to translating its vision into tangible actions that benefit businesses today.

Accelerating the transition from innovation to market

To provide concrete solutions to the challenges faced by innovative companies, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole is launching a new integrated service offering to support agri-food innovation, effective immediately.

This offer aims to support agri-food companies and those developing solutions applicable to the sector at a pivotal stage in their development, when the technology has moved beyond the research stage but still needs to be validated, tested, and adapted to real production conditions in order to enter the market.

The new services include:

  • structured access to expertise, infrastructure, and facilities for development and scaling;
  • support for the structuring and validation of business models;
  • support for the financing strategy and preparation of fundraising campaigns;
  • support in intellectual property and regulatory navigation;
  • connecting with partners to carry out profitable pilot projects.

In addition, there is a mutualization support service, deployed as part of the Stratégie bioalimentaire de la Montérégie (SBM) (Montérégie Bio-Food Strategy). This service aims to support businesses in optimizing and sharing equipment, infrastructure, and production capacity in order to reduce costs, maximize the use of existing assets, and accelerate innovation projects.

To ensure the rollout of this new offering, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole has strengthened its agri-food innovation team, bringing in the internal expertise needed to effectively support high-potential projects.

This approach is based on cross-functional collaboration between all Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole departments and its strategic partners, both locally and elsewhere in Quebec. It complements existing support mechanisms and aims to offer businesses a coherent and effective path toward the next stages of commercialization, investment attraction, and growth.

“Companies whose business model is based on the development of new agri-food technologies require tailored and structured support, without which these innovations too often struggle to make it to market. With this new service offering, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole is taking concrete action to reduce risks, structure projects, and support companies at a time when technological, financial, and regulatory decisions are critical to their success,” said Jade Proulx, Director of Agri-Food Innovation at Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole.

A key step towards the future Innovation Centre

The launch of these new services marks a key milestone in the creation of the future Agri-Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre. More than just an infrastructure project, this centre is already shaping up to be a hub of expertise, synergies, and integrated support, capable of bridging the gap between research, innovation, and the market.

“With this announcement, we are resolutely moving from intention to action. The rollout of these services allows us to begin structuring the practices and expertise that will ultimately support the establishment of the future Agri-Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, while strengthening the competitiveness of businesses and Saint-Hyacinthe’s position as a hub for agri-food innovation,” added Karine Guilbault, General Manager of the organization.

Agri-food companies and organizations developing solutions applicable to the sector that wish to benefit from these new services are invited to contact Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole now. The agri-food innovation team is available to assess companies’ needs, offer tailored support, and quickly initiate steps to support their development and market access.
